Join Vikki Hawthorne, USWCC National Director | Supplier Development and subject matter experts Susan Wendt, USWCC DOT Agency Liaison and President and Owner of Wendt Pro and Elizabeth Perdomo, Director of the United States Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Small Business Transportation Resource Center charged with representing the US DOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization in the northeast region. 

BIOS

Susan Wendt is the president and owner of Wendt Pro, providing Safety / Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to Airport, Road & Bridge and Building Contractors in 18 states where she is a certified DBE/ACDBE. This woman-owned business is EDWOSB certified and Susan leverages these certifications to also provide promotional incentives for these contractors to use in employee recruitment, recognition and reward programs as well as community outreach/VIP events. This department mentoring program works with many other Fortune 1000 companies and government contracts not affiliated with DOT work.

Susan is the USWCC Small Business Liaison to the USDOT, sits on the board of directors and legislative committee for the Airport Minority Advisory Council (AMAC), and frequently visits Capitol Hill to meet with elected officials to promote legislation that provides Women and Minority businesses a better chance at competing for federal contracts.

Elizabeth Perdomo is Director of the United States Department of Transportation’s (USDOT) Small Business Transportation Resource Center located at LaGuardia Community College in Queens, New York.  She is charged with representing the US DOT’s Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization in the northeast region.  Her office works with the small and disadvantaged businesses of this region to improve their chances of obtaining contracts funded by the USDOT.  Along with her staff, her office assists the small business community with developing strategies and taking advantage of financing, bonding, and marketing opportunities available to growing businesses entering the government marketplace.  Prior to joining LaGuardia, Elizabeth was director of a Small Business Administration’s Women’s Business Center where she led a mentorship program and taught entrepreneurial development workshops. She previously held fundraising and development positions at non-profits in New York and New Jersey where she authored and co-authored successful grant proposals.  She earned a B.A. from Queens College of the City University of New York.
